Frequently Asked Questions

No, I am not in-network with insurance. My private practice is small, so this is not something I have sought. Patients pay me directly for sessions. My fee is $230/hour session.
It is important to me to be accessible to folks who want to work with me, so I invite you to contact me regardless of your ability to pay my full fee. I offer a sliding scale and will be happy to discuss this option further with you.

Currently, I offer remote therapy (telehealth) only.
Even though my practice is telehealth, I will on occasion offer you skills and behavioral activation work in the community when that is a clinical recommendation and I believe it will be helpful to your treatment. It is up to you whether or not to accept that.

Short-term and focused therapy is limited by definition. If your priority is making a behavioral change, or doing a ‘piece of work’ on a longer term issue, that can be a good fit. Contact me if you would like to discuss your goals further, and explore a potential fit - I will be upfront about my recommendations, and the pros/cons of short-term and focused work.
If you have been referred to adjunctive skills work by your therapist, you could be a good fit. Many therapists will let you know if they think you would benefit from another type of adjunctive treatment such as groups or a higher level of care, and the same goes for skills work. Whether or not to accept your therapist’s recommendation or referral is your choice.
Sometimes, a person comes to me with their own interest in additional skills work. For example, a person may be appreciating therapy for ongoing trauma work, but they also struggle with eating disordered behavior that their therapist is not specialized in treating. I recommend that you talk directly with your therapist about your interest in adjunctive or specialized skills work as a first place to start, to ensure it is not contra-indicated.

There tends to be more flexibility with short-term and focused therapy, because we are also prioritizing time and effectiveness when working toward your goals.
When consulting to prospective new patients, I am upfront with my recommendations. Recommendations vary, and informed by what I believe will be most helpful for your situation.
I tend to use hour-long sessions. Sometimes people find 1.5 hour intensives helpful; cost is prorated from my hourly rate.
I see some people weekly, and some people less than weekly - particularly if we think extra time for behavioral practice in between sessions will be most helpful.
I do not assign new patients an end date for therapy upfront. There are parts of the process we don’t have full control over, but I value supporting you in making changes in a time-effective way. In a consultation/intake we will define realistic goals for your short-term/adjunctive work and a prospective plan. I’m open to hearing your hopeful timeline, and helping you to think about change that is realistic.
Any outpatient therapy is always voluntary and you can end treatment at any time.

My private practice is small and my specialization is short-term and adjunctive work that is change-focused.
On occasion, I may have availability to consider long term therapy referrals. You are always welcome to contact me to discuss your situation and I will get back to you.

None right now, but I’m open to hearing about your interest, to start one with enough community interest and need. I will update as this changes.

Professional consultation rates are $230/hour which matches my session fee.
Trainings and inservice rates are also $230/hour. I will also charge for additional preparation time, and will let you know upfront if I require additional time for a topic you requested.
If you are interested in hiring me for consultation or a group training/inservice at your organization but cannot afford my rates, contact me with your need and budgeting restrictions - I am happy to discuss a sliding fee.

Yes! If you can provide a space, I can provide these services in person.

At this time, I am not able to provide paid supervision to unlicensed clinicians who need supervised hours for licensure.
I am able to offer paid consultation to licensed clinicians, who believe that my specialized experience may be helpful to thinking about a complex case and planning treatment. I believe that consultation is an important part of professional practice. A willingness to use it is also part of ethical practice. I have paid for specialized consultation to support my own practice and patients to great benefit!
Contact me if you are interested in my consultation and areas of specialization.

Great! I look forward to hearing from you.
E-mail is the best way to reach me, through the link below, or DrKSantora@umb.edu. It is helpful to hear more about you, and what services you are seeking. I can generally reply more quickly to e-mail inquiries, although you are welcome to call me and leave a voice message if you prefer.
I like to schedule a brief conversation with prospective patients to further assess the match. I will be very open with my recommendations. If we decide to schedule an intake, I will also send you consent and treatment paperwork.
